The speculation began when leaker SpushFNBR on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that various meme-related skins titled “Plungerman” would soon appear in Fortnite. These include Lego-style Skibidi backpacks, Skibidi Toilet-themed bags, and a Plungerman Plunger pickaxe.

Epic Games later fueled the rumors by posting emojis of a toilet, plunger, and camcorder alongside the date "12.18.2024." Many believe this teaser aligns with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1.

Unsurprisingly, the news has faced backlash on social media, with fans voicing their frustrations over the collaboration. Many see this as a desperate attempt by Epic Games to capitalize on a fleeting meme trend to revive player interest.

Skibidi Toilet originated from a machinima web series created by Alexey Gerasimov. The series, first released in February 2023, quickly went viral among Gen Alpha due to its absurd plot involving a war where toilets feature human heads protruding from them.

The meme’s bizarre appeal has led to widespread recognition. Notably, Western Australian Senator Fatima Payman even mentioned "Skibidi" in a speech. Meanwhile, Hollywood director Michael Bay is reportedly developing a film and TV adaptation of the meme, further cementing its cultural impact.
